Computers change. While they started as oversized calculators with a text-based interface, we now have clever machines with beautiful graphical interfaces. Processors become faster and their entire architecture changes.

An important part of your duties is to adjust or re-create existing software to allow it to run on the latest hardware. Software that used to be available for PowerMacs only needs to be rebuilt for the new Intel Macintoshes. Programmes created for Windows a long time ago are now ported to run on the freely available Linux operating systems.

Our cross-platform approach makes it often possible to continue to run software on existing, already available hardware while it is ready to be installed on modern Linux and Macintosh systems.
